These terms and conditions outline the rules and regulations for using CBM2023's website (https://cbm2023.com) and registration and participation in the conference 5th Congress of Baltic Microbiologists. We assume you accept the terms and conditions for website usage by accessing this website. To register for the 5th Congress Of Baltic Microbiologists conference, we ask that you please agree to the conference's Terms and Conditions and Privacy Policy.

Conference terms and conditions

The Lithuanian Microbiological Society organises the 5th Congress of Microbiologists. Accept the terms and conditions below by registering as an event participant (further on You).

Registration:

  1. All attendees must register and pay the registration fee before the conference.

  2. All participants must register via the https://cbm2023.com/ webpage registration form.

  3. Payments have to be made via bank transfer. 

  4. Payments must be made in euros; no other currency will be accepted.

  5. The participant must provide proof of payment to complete the registration successfully.

  6. No payments can be accepted at the venue registration desk

  7. Payment information will be provided after registration and acceptance of the provided abstract.

  8. The registration fee does not cover travel and accommodation costs.

  9. Registration fees for participants include abstract handling, admission to all sessions, entrance to poster sessions, coffee breaks, and name badges. Other perks may also be available and announced by updating this document.

  10. The Congress organisers intend to run the Congress as a physical event. Suppose the organisers decide it is impossible to continue with a physical event due to the pandemic or other such restrictions. In that case, the Congress may be held wholly or partly as an online meeting. The Congress organisers reserve the right to modify the Congress programme, which is published as an indication only. We will refund the registration fee if the physical and virtual Congress is cancelled. We will only cancel the whole Congress due to circumstances outside of our reasonable control, including (but not limited to) pandemics, natural disasters, adverse weather conditions, fire or closure of airports. Lithuanian Microbiological Society shall not be held liable for other costs or losses.

Cancellation:

  1. If you need to cancel your attendance at the conference, you must do so in writing at least 30 days before the start of the conference. Cancellations made after this time will not be eligible for a refund.

Substitution:

  1. If you cannot attend the conference, you may substitute your registration with another person by contacting the conference organisers in writing seven days before the start of the conference.

Changes to the Conference:

  1. The conference organisers reserve the right to change the dates, times, venue, speakers, and program without prior notice.

Travel and Visa

  1. You must not travel to or attend the Congress if you are displaying symptoms of COVID-19 or are required to place yourself in quarantine.

  2. You should seek and follow your government's advice before booking travel and accommodation for the Congress and before travelling to the event.

  3. You are responsible for making the proper travel and other insurance arrangements before booking travel and accommodation for the Congress.

  4. Lithuanian Microbiological Society shall not be liable to you for any losses incurred, including as a result of travel restrictions being placed against you or certain countries due to COVID-19. By accepting these terms and conditions, you agree to abide by any COVID safety regulations in Lithuania, Vilnius, hotel accommodation and the Congress venue.

  5. Please visit https://keliauk.urm.lt/en/entry-to-lithuania/visas/list-of-countries-whose-citizens-do-not-require-visas-to-enter-the-republic-of-lithuania to check the requirements for Visa in Lithuania. Then, if you need a visa, please contact Lithuanian diplomatic authorities in your country.

  6. The participant's sole responsibility is all expenses incurred concerning the event and obtaining a visa.

  7. Notification of registration and abstract acceptance does not mean substituting or removing visa requirements.

Liability:

  1. The conference organisers are not liable for any personal injury, loss, or damage to the property or belongings of the attendees during the conference.

  2. Attendees are responsible for their safety and security.

Conduct:

  1. Attendees must behave professionally and respectfully towards other attendees, speakers, and staff. Any behaviour deemed inappropriate or offensive by the conference organisers may result in expulsion without a refund.

Photography and Recording:

  1. Photography, audio recording, and video recording of the conference sessions are strictly prohibited without the prior written consent of the conference organisers.

Intellectual Property:

  1. All intellectual property rights concerning the conference and its content, including copyright, trademark, and patent rights, belong to the conference organisers.

Privacy:

  1. The conference organisers will collect and process the attendees' personal data under applicable data protection laws. By registering for the conference, attendees consent to collecting, processing, and using their personal data to organise and administer the conference.

Governing Law:

  1. These terms and conditions shall be governed by and construed under the laws of the jurisdiction of Lithuania. Any disputes arising from or in connection with the conference shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of that jurisdiction.
