About us

Lithuanian Microbiology Society would like to invite you to the 5th Congress of Baltic Microbiologists! The conference will be held at the Life Sciences Centre of Vilnius University.

Microbiology is a rapidly developing discipline, and we should organise presentations on its ongoing progress. Last time in 2018, the Congress of Baltic Microbiologists was held in Gdansk, Poland. This year we invite you to Vilnius, Lithuania!

Aim

The Congress aims to provide a platform for sharing recent results and discoveries in microbiological and biotechnological research, as well as to introduce young researchers from different countries to this fascinating field by allowing them to learn from more experienced scientists and allowing them to present results of their research.

Purpose

The conference will bring together researchers from 5 different and complementary fields of microbiology: food and environmental microbiology, which has a significant impact on the microbiota, and medical microbiology, followed by applied microbiology and biotechnology, which leads the way to genetics, biochemistry and physiology of microorganisms and viruses. Eminent researchers in each topic will be invited as guest speakers. Early career researchers will be encouraged to participate in oral or poster presentations, raising challenging and in-depth discussions.
